The Konkani community is one of the world’s oldest and most vibrant, but sadly, it’s also dwindling in numbers. As generations grow and cultures blend, our unique language, traditions, and values are slowly fading.
While intercaste and intercommunity marriages are beautiful expressions of love and openness, they can gently dilute our already small Konkani population over time.
That heartfelt realization became the motivation behind KhushiKahani.com: a platform built to help Konkani families around the world connect, communicate, and find life partners within our cherished community.
Our mission is simple yet profound: To preserve Konkani language, culture, and heritage …one meaningful match at a time.
KhushiKahani is a family-built initiative started by a small family of four based in San Jose, California: Kunal, Khushi, Kedar, and Preeti Kodikal.
It all began when Kunal (15), an enthusiastic teen exploring Python programming, dreamed of coding his own web app from scratch. His parents, Kedar and Preeti, suggested building something that could serve a higher purpose … a matrimonial platform exclusively for Konkanis, to help our community stay connected and strong for generations to come.
That’s when Khushi (13) jumped in, bringing her eye for aesthetics and creativity to design the app’s user interface. The siblings spent days collaborating, laughing, and playfully arguing (as siblings do!), with Khushi designing screens and Kunal developing them iteratively, step by step.
And thus, KhushiKahani.com was born — a heartfelt family creation that quickly resonated with Konkanis across the globe!
Within just a month of launch, we proudly welcomed 150+ members from across India, the United States, New Zealand, Australia, the UK, UAE, Singapore, Canada, Ireland, Denmark, and many other countries. 🌏
The brain behind the platform’s code and functionality, Kunal built the foundation of KhushiKahani in Python and continues to enhance its features with creativity and precision.
Khushi designed the clean, intuitive user interface that makes KhushiKahani easy and delightful to use — blending simplicity with elegance.
Kedar guided the technical direction, system architecture, and infrastructure decisions that make the platform stable, scalable, and secure.
Preeti shaped the overall concept, marketing, tech and legal framework — ensuring KhushiKahani remains true to its cultural mission while reaching the global Konkani community.
KhushiKahani is not just a website — it’s a labor of love, a cultural movement, and a family’s humble contribution to preserving Konkani identity for the future.
